Only girl on the court

Since starting to play ball again (just little pick up games) at Golds gym I noticed I am always the only girl which always ends up being pretty entertaining on my behalf. It usually always ends up like this:

I walk on the court: Guys stare as if I have two heads. They look at each other, look at me, then look at each other again and ask in a surprising tone, "Do yooouu want to play?" Well yeah guy of course I do, I'm not here to check you out lol.

Hello people we are in 2010 and women play basketball all around the world. lol

After the initial awkward invite: One guy usually says, "I got the girl cause she looks like she can hoop". It never fails. Then comes the awkward tall guy saying, "I guess I have to defend you so I guess I have to take it easy" Ugh! really guy I played basketball since I was 12 (late bloomer), all through Middle, High school, D1 college and over seas; I think I will be alright if you played like you usually do. So I say, "Just play like you do, I can handle it" lol

Game Starts: Tall awkward guy is all hands off and is scared to "hurt me" so I am usually the first one to score. Then the others go "OOOOOO" and the one who thinks he is the best player ever says,"Guy you suck, this girl is killing you." This happens here and there and then as they see I can roll with the best of them the shortest guy who thinks he is freaking Lebron or Kobe always says without fail, "Let me take her". Dude you are half my size, really! lol He figures out quick that my posts up are no match for his short stature and he either falls to the ground or gets clothes lined trying to block my shot, but instead gets run over lol.

Towards the end: Things just start getting silly and the guys crack jokes on either me setting screens that literally knock the short ones down or boxing out the big guys so far back they fall to the ground. All because they think I am just a girl, they want to go easy on me. LOL They can do it all they want but I'm here to get back into fighting shape so I am going all out.

So then they say, WITH OUT FAIL, "You like it rough don't you?" OMG what is up with that line! lol I mean I don't mind the dirty man talk but geez get a new line fellas lol

This happens every single time, its like I live the same moments every time i step on the court. I mean don't get me wrong it is SUPER fun and entertaining and I love it but come on guys get used to a girl baller already I mean I am not the best in the world but damn the way you play around me makes me look like a superstar. lol

It's all for the fun of the game. I love going to Golds and having these experiences so bring it on fellas cause I may be the only girl on the court but I got you! lol
